The meeting was organized on the request of the Montenegrin party. Yevhen Dobriak, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Global Security and International Cooperation of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Oksana Sliusarenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Montenegro, attended the meeting.
The Parties singled out the priority areas of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Montenegro, and called for their development on the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation. They appreciate further development of the parliamentary dimension of the inter-state cooperation owing to the activity of the inter-parliamentary liaison groups.
Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, informed the delegates of the deputy group on the inter-parliamentary liaison with Ukraine of the Parliament of Montenegro about the political situation in Ukraine, and activity of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He deems necessary to foster bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
Miodrag Vuković attaches great importance to the visit of the delegation to Ukraine. He appreciates the parliamentary contacts between the committees and the inter-parliamentary liaison groups. He also announced that such a parliamentary group has been set up in the Parliament of Montenegro.
The deputies of the Parliament of Montenegro hope that the visit will boost bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.
